DS Academy is the premier Christ-centered after-school and summer care program for K-8 students, where faith, learning, and community come together in a nurturing and engaging environment. As part of Divine Shepherd Church—serving the Millard community for over 50 years—and a sister program to Little Lamb Preschool and Childcare, we continue a legacy of excellence in Christian education and care.
Launching in May 2025, DS Academy offers both after-school and summer care with flexible part-time and full-time options.
- After-school care runs Monday through Friday from 3PM to 6PM, with afternoon pickup available at Millard Public Schools: Ackerman, Bryan, Willowdale, Black Elk, Neihardt, Holling Heights, and Rockwell.
- Summer care provides a full-day program Monday through Friday from 6:30AM to 6PM, offering a Christ-centered environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive all summer long.

Mission Statement
DS Academy provides a Christ-centered after-school and summer program where children grow in faith, character, and joy. Rooted in God’s Word, we offer a safe and nurturing environment filled with fun, friendships, music, and hands-on activities. Through play and discovery, we support parents in raising children who know they are loved by Christ, guiding them to build strong foundations for a lifetime of faith and learning.

Our History
For over 50 years, Divine Shepherd Church has been a pillar of faith, education, and community support in Omaha. Rooted in a mission to nurture and serve families, we have continually expanded our outreach to provide exceptional Christian-based education and care.
Building on this strong foundation, we are proud to introduce our After School Care and Summer Care Program—a natural extension of our commitment to fostering faith, learning, and personal growth for children in our community.
The additional license for this new program is in process and we anticipate it to be completed soon. However, if the Academy license is not completed by May 27, we will still be able to provide Summer Care using the existing license of Little Lamb because it provides permission to serve children up to age 12 and has been providing School-age Care in the Summers for a number of years already. Please do ask if you have further questions on this topic.
With decades of experience and a passion for nurturing children’s development, we are excited to continue serving families through this new chapter. Our goal remains steadfast: to provide a safe, enriching, and Christ-centered space where children can grow academically, socially, and spiritually—both during the school year and throughout the summer.
